A memorial flagpole for Mark – a couple days ago this idea came into my mind and I shared it with you. Now, because of all the positive feedback we are receiving, it has taken shape and has become more important to me than I had ever considered. My sister and her husband are landscape designers and almost immediately after reading my blog post they began to discuss ideas.

It was when my biological aunt (whom I have never met) asked me about “our lasting memorial” that I think I grasped what it was that I was considering. I already want to sit there – and perhaps on his December birthday we will even want to take our carrot cake and eat it outside with him. He would love it.

And so – (back to awkward) – because we already have several inquiries… I tried to set up a new Venmo account just for the memorial flagpole garden but that isn’t really a thing. My personal Venmo is really only used on the rare occasion, so let’s just use that and I can add an account for depositing all flag offerings.
